About KyCGA
The Kentucky Corn Growers Association is dedicated
to growing opportunities for Kentucky corn farmers in a changing
industry. This grassroots organization, founded in 1982, represents
the interests of more than 7,000 corn farmers in the Commonwealth
by:
-
Providing a voice for producers to influence
beneficial legislation and regulation at the state and federal
levels,
- Enhancing and expanding potential uses and
markets for corn to improve producer profitability,
- Investing in new technologies that will help
farmers achieve greater production yields while reducing
environmental impact, and
- Protecting and improving the image of
agriculture and farmers through consumer education.
The
KyCGA is governed by a Board of
Directors made up of grower members (two from each membership
district and one from each eligible regional association) and
industry and extension representatives. The Board of Directors set
policy and program priorities for Kentucky, help guide policy and
program priorities of the
National Corn Growers
Association, and advises the
Kentucky Corn Promotion
Council on project funding.
KyCGA is an official state affiliate of the National Corn Growers
Association.
