Commonwealth Agri-Energy
In 2004, KyCGA invested $1 million in a 100% farmer-owned ethanol
plant in Hopkinsville, Commonwealth Agri-Energy. The plant is truly
a success story of Kentucky agriculture and regional economic
development.
Commonwealth Agri-Energy produces 33 million gallons of ethanol
annually using about 12 million bushels of local corn. They also
produce 107,000 tons of distiller's grains (a high quality livestock
feed), 110,000 tons of CO2 that is directed to an on-site dry ice
plant, and 3,000 tons of feed-grade corn oil.

kyGREENtv recently visited the plant to learn more about ethanol
production.
