Cash Crop Receipts
August 30, 2011 - According to the USDA's Economic Research
Service, Kentucky's 2010 corn crop brought in $604 million to the
Commonwealth, above soybeans, hay and tobacco. Poultry was the
highest receipting commodity overall for the second year, bringing
$953 million to the state. Horses second, cattle and calves in
third, followed by corn, then soybeans.

weekend to discuss food and farming at The Comfy Cow,
a gourmet ice cream parlor in Louisville, Ky.

Kentucky Farmers Celebrate Use of American Ethanol at
Hometown Racetrack
July 1, 2011 - When the green flag waves at the Kentucky
Speedway NASCAR events, July 7-9, a host of farmers will be
in the stands to cheer on every driver as they race towards
the finish line using Sunoco E15, a fuel blended with 15

KyCGA Presents
CommonGround Program to Kentucky Teachers;
Encourages them to "Follow a Farmer"
June 20, 2011 - Farmer
volunteers are talking to Kentucky teachers this month during the
Kentucky Farm Bureau Regional Teacher Workshops held across the
state. Their hope is that our educators will invite them into their
classrooms next school year to share their food and farming
knowledge with Kentucky students. The workshops are being held at
various locations between June 16 and June 30, and more than 620
teachers have registered to attend. KyCGA is a sponsor of the
Kentucky Farm Bureau teacher workshops, which provided an ideal
setting to introduce teachers to the valuable resource available to
them, passionate farmers from all sizes and sectors of the industry.
