WLKY 32 in Louisville aired a special on alternative
fuels Monday, May 23, focusing on ethanol and biodiesel.
Fortunately KyCGA member Ray Allan Mackey, of Glendale, was
able to share the farmer point of view about the economic
and environmental benefits of these fuels.
KyCGA
staff member Jennifer Elwell was also able to discuss on
camera the success of Commonwealth Agri-Energy and its
impact on Kentucky’s corn producers. Off camera, Jennifer
educated WLKY reporter Paul Moses on a number of other
ethanol issues, including the fact that his Ford Explorer
provided by the TV station could utilize E85 (85% ethanol
blend).
With recent media "blows" to ethanol, this story provided
the industry—pardon the pun—a breath of fresh air.
The story concluded with a great quote by Ray Allen,
"These fuels are renewing America, and that’s what we’re all
about!"
