Two
members earned awards for their submissions in the 2005
National Corn Growers Association Gallery of Corn Photo
Contest.
Clark Howard, of Campbellsville earned first
place in the “Families on the Farm” category (far right) and
received a $75 prize.
Patty Griffith, of Mayfield, earned second
place in the “Planting” category (below) and earned a $50
prize. Griffith also earned two awards in the 2004 contest.
The NCGA initiated the contest to fill its photo library for
use in digital and printed publications.
The 2006 Gallery of Corn Photo Contest is
under way, and members can download official rules and entry
forms at
www.ncga.com . You may also contact the KyCGA at
800-326-0906 to receive a printed form by mail.
Digital photos are accepted but must be
taken in high resolution format. According to KyCGA
communications director Jennifer Elwell, you should set your
camera—4.0 mega pixel or greater—to take photos in .TIFF or
super high resolution .JPEG format. A high-quality digital
print must accompany the photo on a CD-ROM. E-mailed photos
are not accepted.

Photographers should also keep in mind that
all persons featured in a photo must sign the entry form
giving their permission for use and publication. The same
rule applies to photos of recognizable property; the form
must be signed by the property owner.
Photos must reach the NCGA office by
December 5, 2006.
