The American Ethanol Crappie Masters Kentucky/Tennessee State Championship will be held the end of this month, April 28-29, on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. The weigh-in and tournament headquarters will be at Buchanan Resort in Springville, TN.

This is the second year KyCorn has partnered with Commonwealth Agri-Energy to showcase American Ethanol and dispel ethanol myths during the sponsored event. Many in the boating industry have bought in to misinformation about ethanol-enriched fuels' impact on seasonal-use engines.

"We want to approach our critics directly about the truth and help them understand benefits of ethanol to our environment, the economy, and engines," said KyCorn Programs Director Adam Andrews. "By making ourselves available to the marine community through this program we have been highly successful at correcting misunderstandings about how ethanol and boats do mix."

American Ethanol is the title sponsor of the Crappie Masters Tournament Trail, as well as a sponsor of 2 angler teams. KyCorn and TnCorn team up through the KY/TN championship to work with local media and leaders to explain how E10 is not only safe in marine engines, but share the many other benefits of the ethanol fuel.

Also, through this program personal attention is placed on boat dealerships and marine engine service and repair shops to make sure all facts are available to mechanics and their customers. Today, more than 97 percent of the nation's fuel is blended with 10 percent ethanol. More than 12 million recreational boats in the United States are approved to operate on E10.
