Every few years, KyCorn leadership reevaluates its strategic plan, which helps guides programming and spending decisions. With high production, policy uncertainty, and an era of lower prices, KyCorn asked UK agricultural economist Steve Isaacs to facilitate the planning process during their July board meeting.

"The discussion for the strategic planning session was great," said Mark Roberts, KyCorn president and farmer from Henry Co. "The final result was dead-on as what we need for our goals. There was a focus on consumer trust and building markets. Steve Isaacs was also a great help, as he stimulated the conversation and made us think more about what we wanted to accomplish."

Board members also took a tour of the O.Z. Tyler distillery in Owensboro, which uses corn from Kentucky growers. Master distiller and general manager Jacob Call led the tour. Learn more about the distillery
